From Principal Rumple: Family month, dress-up days, book fair and more

It’s the month to be thankful, and I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with you in your child’s educational journey during their time at Justice. We have many great opportunities during this month to partner with the school.

Every week our students are engaging in learning opportunities to grow their capacity, and one of the standard opportunities is participation in i-Ready pathways. Each student has a weekly expectation to complete two lessons in reading and two lessons in math each week. Meeting this learning expectation is important because the lesson is at the level of each student, and closing lessons along the pathway means closing any learning gaps students may have. Please partner with us by asking your child if they have completed the weekly expectation, and encourage them to meet this expectation each week.

Another partnership opportunity this month is to attend our Title I Math night for families on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Parent information and resources will be available, and students will participate in various math learning stations to enhance their math skills. Our theme for the week is Falling for Math, and we will have dress up days to accompany this numeracy focus:

  • Monday 11/6: Great Outdoors Day (flannel, camouflage, camping gear)
  • Tuesday 11/7: Math is Everywhere! (jerseys, shirts with numbers, shirts with shapes)
  • Wednesday 11/8: Wacky Wednesday (crazy patterns, polka dots, stripes)
  • Thursday 11/9: Thankful Thursday (any fall shirt, brown, orange, pumpkins)
  • Friday 11/10: Marion Giant Pride (5th grade: purple; 6th grade gold)

The Scholastic Book Fair will be back at Justice next week too, from Nov. 6-10. It will be open during school hours and also during Family Night! If you'd like to set up an eWallet for your student to safely spend money on books and other bookish items at the fair, click here.

Lastly, please partner with us by participating in our fundraiser currently going on through Tuesday, Nov. 7. Our fundraiser will help us with our perfect attendance, positive behavior, and academic incentives. We will be able to focus on providing celebrations for students who display GIANT qualities, and we appreciate your help in this.

This is our time to SOAR to new heights, and we continue to dedicate our time and energy to this task. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
