From Principal Rumple: Grading period ends first week of October!

Fall is in full swing, bringing with it the end of the first grading period, Fall Break, and fun holidays. The first week of October ends our first grading period. I encourage you to speak with your student regarding his or her grades and any final assignments for the quarter. If you find your student is still in need of extra help, our tutoring program has started and runs every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:50 to 4:50 p.m. until April 18. Please contact the office if you are interested in signing your student up for tutoring. (Transportation is available.)

Fall Break is Oct. 16-20, and we hope everyone is able to take advantage of the break to rest and recharge as we head into the final stretch of the first semester.

We will continue to go outside for recess as long as the weather cooperates. Students may want to make sure they have a jacket or sweatshirt in the lockers for the days they go out for recess.

Safety is a priority for us as we educate your students. We need your help in making sure our arrival and dismissal time is as safe as possible for our students.

  • For arrival, it is important that students are not dropped off prior to 8:30 a.m. at Door 13. There is no supervision until our doors open at 8:30 a.m., which is a safety concern.
  • For car-rider arrival and dismissal, all cars must enter on the north side of the parking lot (the drive by Kendall Elementary). Please do not enter from Miller Avenue and try to join the line, and do not drop your student off at the front of the building (Miller Avenue side). At dismissal, please pull forward completely in the line. Your student will move to where you are.
  • Do not park in the car wash lot across Miller Avenue at any time. This is not a safe area for students to cross the street, and the owner of the business does not allow parking.
  • Walkers should cross the street at designated crosswalks or at stop signs.
  • Feel free to contact the office if you have any questions at 664-0507.

This is our time to SOAR to new heights, and we continue to dedicate our time and energy to this task. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
