We are officially settling into the school year, and it has been wonderful to see our Giants learning routines, building relationships, and finding their place at Justice! As we move into September, we are excited to continue building on that strong start. Thank you, families, for the encouragement, communication, and support you provide at home. We truly value the partnership between home and school and want you to always feel comfortable reaching out with questions, concerns, or celebrations along the way.
Friday, Sept. 18, will be an e-learning day for students. Teachers will participate in professional development during the morning, followed by parent-teacher conferences. Justice uses an open conference format, so families do not need to sign up for a specific time. You may stop in anytime between noon and 3 p.m. to meet with your child’s teachers. Specials teachers and fifth grade teachers will be in the gym, and sixth grade teachers and resource will be in the cafeteria. Please enter through Door 13.
Conferences are a great opportunity to check in on how your student is doing, celebrate successes, discuss areas for growth, and make sure we are working together to support their success.
During our Skills for Success homeroom time, we intentionally work on habits that help students be successful in the classroom and beyond. Right now, our schoolwide focus is listening and following directions.
We are helping students understand that strong listening means giving their attention, making sure they understand what is being asked, and following through. These may seem like simple skills, but they make a big difference in learning, relationships, and responsibility. Families can help us reinforce this focus by talking about and practicing these same skills at home.
Every Thursday is Thread Up Thursday! Students are encouraged to dress their best while we focus on skills that help them grow into confident, responsible, and prepared young people.
Throughout the year, we’ll talk about things like communication, responsibility, teamwork, problem-solving, and wellness. Thread Up Thursday is a fun way to remind our Giants that how we carry ourselves matters.
At Justice, we celebrate the first Friday of every month with a dress-up day, and our first one is this Friday! This month’s theme is “A Shirt You Can Read!” Wear a school-appropriate shirt with words on it: a favorite team, positive message, school, brand, book, or anything else we can READ!
It’s a simple way to have some fun, build school spirit, and sneak a little reading into our Friday. We can’t wait to see what our Giants wear!
