Welcome, Coach Jordan!

News Blog Category - News After helping to build up the Giants’ junior high basketball program in recent years and leading the eighth-grade boys to an undefeated record last season, Lawrence Jordan is taking the reins of the Marion High School girls basketball team.

He will also continue to help build the basketball program throughout the school system, and will work with area organizations to offer more opportunities for younger students to learn the fundamentals of the sport. He aims to provide a camp for fifth-graders here at Justice Intermediate School in June, and will be providing more details on that soon. Justice Intermediate School congratulates Coach Jordan — and we look forward to seeing the excitement he will build here at Justice, too!

Lawrence has been helping to lead the Giants’ junior high basketball programs in recent years, and has coached many of the current Giants players.

“I know our players are going to be excited to play for Coach Jordan; in the interview process, he had me wanting to play!” MHS Principal Keith Burke said.

Jordan has been inducted into athletics hall of fames for both his high school and college careers, at Muncie Southside and IPFW, respectively.

Jordan said he was looking forward to building the program on a foundation of structure, accountability, and discipline.

“It’s an exciting time. It’s a hotbed of talent. We have good support,” he said. “If we work hard, we can achieve our goals.”
