News Blog Category - News The Power of She: Knowing Your Worth youth conference is coming up, and all Marion girls first grade through 12th grade are invited.


The Power of She is all about being confident, kind, and strong! This free local event will include fun activities, food, and more, and there's even a special part for moms. The Power of She will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McCulloch Junior High School on Oct. 20. For more information and to register, click here to visit the Amara House online. 

You can also register day-of at the event. There will be a registration packet that will need to be completed by a parent or guardian.

Calling all area families: YOU are invited to the annual Fall Fest hosted by Early Head Start and Little Giants Preschool - Head Start!

Join us for this fun festival that focuses on health and safety. This year's theme is "Community Super Heroes!"

The event will last from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Grant County Family YMCA, 123 Sutter Way, Marion. This event is open to all families in Grant and Blackford counties with children ages 0 to 12, and it is FREE!

News Blog Category - News Justice Intermediate School is grateful to be the recipient of a grant from Pizza Hut’s The Literacy Project.

With the help of First Book, Pizza Hut is enabling access to books and educational resources, empowering teachers, and inspiring young readers. The program provides free age-appropriate and culturally relevant books children in areas with a high level of need.

“Justice Intermediate School was honored to be chosen for this program,” said Justice librarian Kari Persinger. “We were able to purchase over 120 books for our library! We are committed to our literacy program, so those will be an invaluable resource for our students. Thank you so much to Pizza Hut and their amazing customers who contributed!”

Pizza Hut has been committed to nurturing kids’ love of reading through the BOOK IT! Program since 1984. Now, they’ve partnered with First Book to expand their reach even further. Since 1992, First Book has distributed more than 175 million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low income families in more than 30 countries.

The Literacy Project aims to transform the lives of 100 million people in 10 years. Pizza Hut customers have the option to add a donation to First Book very time the order in the restaurant or online. The funds raised from each Pizza Hut location then goes to local educators to purchase books and resources form First Book Marketplace.

Justice Intermediate was recently granted $840 to spend in the First Book Marketplace. Marion Community Schools is grateful for this gift that will help us continue to expand opportunities for local students.

News Blog Category - News Giant Arts in the Park is a social event you won’t want to miss. At 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, come out and enjoy good company, a beautiful setting (the Gardens at Matter Park), and great entertainment from the Marion Community Schools music programs, along with food for sale to benefit the MHS Bands.


In addition, the Marion High School Alumni Association will again be holding an auction to raise funds for the Giant Dreams Endowment and also direct support of Marion Community Schools. (www.biddingowl.com/mhsalum). There will also be MHS yearbooks from past years for sale the night of the event.
